Grotto in the yard

specific building

The massive stone building looks solid in large areas, harmoniously looks in a complex with a residential building built in the same style.

The grottoes that have a stream inside look gorgeous, but the cave looks even more attractive, which is a little immersed in the water. This makes it mysterious and attractive.

A stone gazebo can be built as a single object on the territory, and it will look very harmonious due to its natural origin. A brick building looks better with a residential building, a brick platform, and other elements of this material.

A stone gazebo does not consist solely of stone. Masters harmoniously combine this material with glass, wood, metal. The stone is the basis for the bearing parts of the gazebo, its walls, supports and roofs.

The stone will be an appropriate material for large and medium-sized arbors. It makes no sense to build a small gazebo of stone, since the material, by its purpose, implies massiveness, and in small structures it loses its effect.

For construction, any natural stone is used – sandstone, shell rock, limestone and slate. Chipped rock or small river stones can be an excellent base for a gazebo, but this material is rarer and more expensive.

Natural stone with a thickness of 3 to 5 centimeters fits well and is connected with a solution, eventually forming a neat structure.

Installation and construction

The perimeter of the gazebo is laid with a strip concrete base, up to 20 centimeters thick. An armored belt must be present, since stone walls are a very heavy structure. In places where the posts are installed, the foundation should reach 50 centimeters in depth.

The roof in stone arbors is built of metal, then covered with flexible tiles or metal tiles. Ceramic tiles are the best option for laying the roof, it will be in harmony with the stone details of the gazebo.

It is not recommended to fill the stone gazebo with plastic fittings. Wooden furniture and metal decor elements will look better.
